I think this is an older book by this author and I decided to give it a try as there are a lot of books of hers that I haven't read. I'm a big fan of her Regency books.

This book is clean and that's a bonus. The H is the h's stepbrother and they've had an acrimonious relationship for many years. There is sibling rivalry of a sort and the H appears to be getting everything that the H's dad ever worked for. Every time the H got yet another thing, it wasn't logical, the business, the house etc and the h's dad only had faith in the stepson. The h had left home 5 years before after a fight with a father and only returns home because her dad has a heart attack. The H is the blue-eyed boy and no one believes in the h.

The H and h soon see each other and the nastiness starts immediately. I will say that the h gives back in kind but she is not the one who initiates it. The H accuses her of coming back for her inheritance but he has everything anyway. In between both of these characters are seeing other people, which I'm not a fan of when we are trying to believe in their hea. When they are not fighting they kiss but it isn't romantic when it happens.

Honestly by the end of the book I didn't even care anymore.

A very nice book from Leigh Michaels...it is definetly a keeper!i recommend it.

My thoughts I like those forbidden love themes and stepbrother/stepsister is one of my families (sorry sue me =P) I liked the back and forth fighting/dialogue between the hero and heroine. I thought it was absolutely cute that the hero was so in love with the heroine way back when and even asked for her hand back then. Of course some of you might be like ewww pedophile (she was 15 when he realized he loved her and she was 17 when they had that "incident" and he was 22 I think) The heroine was ok too but I guess she was a little dense about the hero's feeling and her own feelings, LOL. It was a little annoying/mean of the heroine too to keep ragging on the hero for stealing/attempting to steal her family inheritance/taking over but of course there has to be a story. Anyhow, I love the story.
I searched for this book forever though used bookstores and finally found it here on . I agree the forbidden quality of this book is what seduced me into reading it. It is the one Harlequin novel that I can remember reading, highly recommended.
