I’m an avid lover of mermaid stories, so I was particularly interested in how this one would play out. Unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The characters seemed rather shallow and immature. It was as if the book was written on fast-forward with no time to really savor the story. You would leap from one pivotal moment to the next with small amounts of fluff in the middle. Half the story had the characters doing the same things over and over. What should’ve been a huge plot twist in the story turned into nothing more than a little blurb. The author kept repeating the same phrases over and over again, making the emotional responses of her characters less and less important. I really think she had a great story here...I just wish it had been developed better. Overall it was like chewing gum...interesting at first but then quickly losing its flavor. Needless to say I won’t be reading the sequels.Tags : Merman's Kiss (Merman's Kiss, Book 1) - Kindle edition by Dee J. Stone. Merman Kiss Merman Kiss Book 1 eBook Dee J Stone Reviews
I loved this book! This book has great characters and a great plot! I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series! I had a hard time putting this book down!
I love this book I only wish there were more books about mermaids. I can't wait till the 3th books comes out in paperback too I have book one and two is on its way
It was a story full of fantasy and love. I enjoyed the flow of the romance and and the overcoming of all that was holding them apart.
This was a cute romance that I immediately picked up because 1. it featured a merman and 2. it wasn't erotica (A rare combination, from what I've gathered, as I always keep my eye out for a good merman book). It took very little time for me to fall in love with Damarion, who was absolutely adorable as he found himself on land for the first time and struggling to adapt to walking on two legs and exploring the human world.
I am always grateful for a romance novel where the main characters actually take the time to get to know each other before falling into love/lust, and I greatly enjoyed the friendship that formed between Cassie and Damarion in addition to the growing romance. My one gripe, however, is that when the characters did realize "gosh, I think I'm falling in love!" they basically immediately went from friends with growing crushes to "I cannot live my life without you". The two characters were professing their undying love for each other after only knowing each other for maybe a few weeks, and I felt like it was just too soon. It would have been nice if the romance had had some more time to grow before reaching max level.
My one gripe aside, this book was still very enjoyable. Both Cassie and Damarion were strong characters, and I enjoyed learning more about the mer people and their world. The ending was predictable, but not in a bad way. The book is set up for a sequel, and I am eagerly looking forward to it. Now that Cassie and Damarion are officially "together", I hope the sequel will explore more about the underwater world as well as add more depth to our main couple's relationship.
Classic forbidden love but add a merman 😍. Such a satisfying ending but yet you still want more. Signs of a good book.
Gosh, this book had me hooked from page 1. I love this book so much. And I can't wait to read the other serious soon enough. It really made me believe in true love and happiness for everyone now. I hope I can feel that way as the characters did in this wondering and amazing book.
The kindle version of it was a cheap price ($3), so I figured why not. I do like magical teen romance stories, but this one I'd give 3 out of 5 stars. I loved the magical part, and learning about the male lead's world, but I felt that he and Cassie (female lead) fell in love too quickly. Very swoon-worthy. I'm still lost on what they liked about each other (not saying the characters were bad, but it was too much in a rush).
