Alien Research Alien Novels Gini Koch Books
Gini Koch is keeping her Alien series fresh and engaging. I don't believe in spoilers so I won't say much about the plot.As book 8 in the long running series, Gini Koch ran me through the gamut of emotions as she added to the Kitty Katt-Martini story. I laughed, I cried, I got pissed off, and mourned. Putting the story down was not an option. The fast-paced action & snappy humor helped weave a strong story. While I've enjoyed all the books in the series, I have to say this one ranks #1 for me.

Alien Research Alien Novels Gini Koch Books Reviews
I really like this Alien series and I think this may be my favorite in the series so far. I was late getting started to the series, so I had 9 books to catch up on and I've been trying to space them out and not read all of them at one time. But it's hard to do. I've finished 8 and now I'm getting ready to start on 9. These are such fun, fast paced, funny books. I love Kitty's references and snarky comments. It's such a fun read. if you haven't read anything in the series yet, don't start here...be sure to read them in order, I think they make much more sense than trying to read any one as a standalone book, since each one builds on the last. If you're looking for a fun, funny read; get this Alien series. While the author could certainly tighten up the books some, we don't need continual introductions to people we've known for several books now; but if it's been a year since you've read the last one, you might could use a few reminders (I don't since I've read 8 in 6 months now...).
Ok, I have read all the previous books and will continue to do so.
That said, this book was a bit darker, and heartbreaking. I actually cried!
I had to wonder why three of the characters were eliminated? Especially characters who have been part of the story from the beginning.
This reminded me of that show on cable, where characters you find interesting and\or attached to were unexpectedly murdered.
It would have be great to read about these eliminated characters in a novella instead.
I will continue reading this well written, fun, sexy, action packed series.
Would be pleased if least Chuck & Caroline find happiness. Maybe together? They would the perfect politically smart couple, willing
and able to provide the back up Katt & Martini need.
I also like Amy & Christopher, and the other couples, as well as the children.
Also, please find and eliminate the master mind already, then maybe our group can get more involved with galactic politics. Loved meeting those alien species in the previous books.
Start from the beginning, read them in order. Promise , you will enjoy.
Alien Research is the 8th book in the Katherine "Kitty" Katt series, and I have to say I was surprised by how much I adored this one. Normally by book 8 in any given series, the plot becomes boring, characters become predictable, but not so with this book. If you were on the fence with this series with the last book and were hesitant to start this one, have no fear because Kitty and the gang are back in action and this one really is unputdownable. I read this while I was at a conference, and I just wanted to hole up in my hotel room and read it-it took lots of willpower not to do that!
This is a hard review to write with out giving away spoilers, but let me just say there were so many shocking twists and turns that I honestly never knew what was coming next. This is honestly one of my favorite books in the series. It made me laugh, cry and want to hit something-sometimes all at the same time! I loved that we saw more of Alpha Team, Raj, Gower and the Dazzlers in this book. This series has so many characters and all have become beloved members of my book family by now, that I want to see them all in every paragraph-which isn't really realistic, but Gini does a fantastic job of not leaving anyone out and introducing new characters who become instantly beloved. I loved all the new characters introduced in this book, mainly because I kept being surprised by their appearance.
I'm extremely biased with this series, but honestly? This book is fantastic and reminds me a lot of the earlier books in this series. There's lots of action, and Kitty and Martini have some great scenes together. This one left me an emotional wreck, but, really the things that happened in the book needed to. I can't wait to see what happens next with Kitty and the gang, because I really have no idea what will happen and I love that. One last thing-the overall mystery of who the mastermind is behind everything is driving me CRAZY because I can't figure out who it is, and while my guesses have all been horribly wrong I love that I still haven't figured it out and won't until it's finally revealed. This is one series that I'm glad I took a risk on starting.
I received this book from the publisher for a fair and honest review.
I really love the geeky pop culture references in this series.
Where a very bad situation is described as "This was really like the poison scene from The Princess Bride. What a pity I hadn’t spent years taking the poison antidote so that the choice didn’t matter."
And our petulant heroine labels a new character with mad skills by declaring, "You’re Loki. Or the Q. Or some combo of both."
Or my favorite, where Kitty Katy describes the talents of a new A-C hybrid, "So, you’re not really Storm, you’re more like an earthbender.”
Overall, this is one more whirlwind, madcap , nonstop adventure featuring our favorite friends from American Centaurian. And the astoundingly poignant eulogy at the state funeral was Independence Day level inspiring.
